The UAE Air Force Air Defense Institute (AFADi) in Abu Dhabi has opted for ILIAS as their Learning Content Management System.
After an implementation period of about half a year based on the specific training needs of the Air Force Training Institute of the United Emirates, the system is now used to support classroom education and also all kinds of supplementary learning activities such as external individual assignments, group assignments and also Serious Games.
For this project a complete new Arabic translation was made for ILIAS.

Interesting in this project was the development of a Map Game. This project was carried out by Future Learning together with one of our partners BlueTea simultaneously with the implementation of ILIAS. A multiplayer game has been developed for teaching strategic skills for pilots in training. The Game has the possibility to create a session based on detailed ground maps.
These ground maps are stored on the ILIAS server and read in by the various devices (Microsoft Surface Pro tablets) of the participants. Within a session, different steps and layers can be used to create a strategic mission for an optimal learning result for novice pilots.
