Bartiméus is an expertise organization that supports people with visual impairments (the blind and visually impaired) to live life as they wish. Bartiméus has a great deal of knowledge and experience in supporting people with a visual and / or additional disability. If she does not have the knowledge (yet), Bartiméus develops it in the form of new methods or training.
For several years, Bartiméus has been using e-learning to support all knowledge processes within the organization, such as new legislation and regulations, new procedures, new methods, new staff. For e-learning Bartiméus makes use of the LCMS ILIAS in combination with the author’s tool Trivantis Lectora and there are already about 2000 e-learning modules available that are used in blended learning programs.

Bartiméus has recently switched to the AFAS HR system. Together with Bartiméus, Future Learning has built an ILIAS link with AFAS which automatically creates users in AFAS and enrolls them in ILIAS when it comes to e-learning modules. In addition, the achieved results are linked back to AFAS.

AFAS is the leading system at Bartiméus and ILIAS seamlessly fits in with this. One step further is that a Single Signon option is now being realized by Future Learning. I.e. people do not have to log in to ILIAS once they are in AFAS.

Future Learning realizes these links with its own development team based on established standards such as REST and SAML. The ILIAS environment at Future Learning runs as a Managed Service with a Service Level Agreement that meets all the strict requirements that are set within the healthcare sector.
