Everyone in the Netherlands and Belgium working with or interested in ILIAS, Dutch speaking, was invited. There were about 30 attendees, including staff from Bunge, Bartimeus, PSW, Qlupp, Sevagram, Vandewatermanagement, CAE, SCIOPENG, Education Products, Dichterbij, Eluxis, Volandis, RH Marine Netherlands, EATRIS, the Royal Netherlands Army, – Marechaussee and the – Air Force<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The aim of the Dutch ILIAS Community is to organize a semi-annual meeting by and for the ILIAS users. It is primarily a knowledge exchange platform<\/strong>, facilitated by the ILIAS Association with chairperson Matthias Kunkel<\/strong>, who is also the product manager of the ILIAS association<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Jo Geesink of Sevagram<\/strong>, a large organization for care, housing and well-being in South Limburg was the chairman of the day and gave a brief introduction to the intention of this afternoon, in particular to exchange knowledge about ILIAS use in the Netherlands and as a recurring event. On the official ILIAS website<\/a> you will find the Dutch speaking ILIAS community, interested parties and ILIAS users can apply for it.<\/p>\n

Then Matthias Kunkel was given the floor. Matthias explained very well how the ILIAS Association<\/strong> works and acts, what the role of the Premium Partners<\/strong> is and how the Community<\/strong> works. An eye-opener for most of the attendees was that the ILIAS Association does not employ developers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Matthias also explained the core\/plugin framework and the release schedule. Which means some functionality can not be immediately incorporated into core (core of the ILIAS system) which might be quickly needed. For this purpose, a plugin is first developed that is linked to ILIAS. Finally, he explained that the next ILIAS release will be called ILIAS 5.4 (March 2019 available) and the release thereafter will be called ILIAS 6.0 (March 2020). After a short coffee break there was time and space for demonstrations of ILIAS environments from several organizations and knowledge exchange<\/strong>. For this purpose 6 ‘round tables’ were available with 6 ILIAS users who gave a short demo of how they have set up and use ILIAS. After some time people were able to switch tables on instructions from Jo Geesink, so that everyone was able to see and discuss all ILIAS environments and their layouts.<\/p>\n

After a pause, G\u00f6ran Kattenberg gave a presentation<\/a> on behalf of Future Learning (Dutch Premium Partner) about how ILIAS increasingly is becoming a Learning Hub<\/strong>, that is to say how ILIAS can integrate with different systems and technologies and offers the future in this area.<\/p>\n

Matthias then gave an overview of new functionalities in ILIAS 5.4 and in ILIAS 6.0<\/strong> in particular the new user interface concept for ILIAS 6.0, some of which is already available in version 5.4. Then there was time for a question round.<\/p>\n

De aftrap van de Dutch ILIAS Community middag vond plaats op dinsdag 18 september 2018 in \u2019s Hertogenbosch. Iedereen in Nederland en Belgi\u00eb die werkt met, of belangstelling heeft voor ILIAS, was uitgenodigd zowel klanten van Future Learning als andere gebruikers. Er waren ongeveer 30 aanwezigen, o.a. medewerkers van Bunge, Bartimeus, Volandis, PSW, Qlupp, Sevagram, Vandewatermanagement, CAE, SCIOPENG, Onderwijsproducten, Dichterbij, Eluxis, Volandis, RH Marine Netherlands, EATRIS, de Koninklijke Landmacht, - Marechaussee en de - Luchtmacht.<\/strong><\/p>

De bedoeling van de Dutch ILIAS Community is een halfjaarlijkse bijeenkomst te organiseren door en voor de ILIAS gebruikers. Het is vooral een kennisuitwisselingsplatform<\/strong>, gefaciliteerd door de ILIAS Vereniging met als voorzitter Matthias Kunkel, die ook de product manager van de ILIAS vereniging<\/strong> is.<\/p>

Jo Geesink van Sevagram, een grote organisatie voor zorg, wonen en welzijn in Zuid-Limburg was de dagvoorzitter en gaf een korte inleiding van de bedoeling van deze middag, met name kennisuitwisseling over ILIAS gebruik organiseren in Nederland en als terugkerend evenement. Op de offici\u00eble ILIAS website<\/a><\/strong> tref je het forum aan van de Nederlandstalige ILIAS community,\u00a0belangstellenden en ILIAS gebruikers kunnen zich daarvoor aanmelden.<\/p>

Vervolgens kreeg Matthias Kunkel het woord. Matthias heeft heel goed uitgelegd hoe de ILIAS Vereniging<\/strong> in elkaar zit en werkt, wat de rol is van de Premium Partners<\/strong> en hoe de Community's<\/strong> werken. Wat voor de meeste aanwezigen een eye-opener was dat de ILIAS Vereniging geen ontwikkelaars in dienst<\/strong> heeft.<\/p>

Verder heeft Matthias nog uitleg gegeven over het core\/plugin framework en het release schema. D.w.z. sommige functionaliteit kan niet onmiddellijk in core (kern van het ILIAS systeem) worden opgenomen en is toch snel nodig. Hiervoor wordt dan eerst een plugin ontwikkeld die met ILIAS gekoppeld wordt. Tenslotte heeft hij uitgelegd dat de volgende ILIAS release ILIAS 5.4 zal heten (Maart 2019 beschikbaar) en de release daarop ILIAS 6.0 zal heten (Maart 2020). Na een korte koffiepauze was er tijd en ruimte voor demonstraties van klantomgeving en kennisuitwisseling<\/strong>. Hiervoor waren 6 'round tables' beschikbaar met 6 ILIAS gebruikers die een korte demo gaven van hoe zij ILIAS hebben ingericht en gebruiken. Na enige tijd konden mensen op instructie van Jo Geesink van tafel wisselen, zodat iedereen in staat was om alle ILIAS omgevingen en inrichting daarvan te kunnen zien en te bediscussi\u00ebren.<\/p>

Na een pauze heeft G\u00f6ran Kattenberg namens Future Learning (Dutch Premium Partner) een presentatie<\/a> <\/strong>gegeven van hoe ILIAS steeds meer een Learning Hub<\/strong> worden, d.w.z. hoe ILIAS kan integreren met verschillende systemen en technologie\u00ebn en de toekomst biedt\u00a0 op dit vlak.<\/p>

Vervolgens heeft Matthias nog als toetje een overzicht gegeven van nieuwe functionaliteiten in ILIAS 5.4 en in ILIAS 6.0<\/strong> met name ook het nieuwe user interface concept voor ILIAS 6.0 waarvan een gedeelte ook al in versie 5.4 beschikbaar is. Vervolgens was er nog tijd voor een vragenronde.\u00a0 Daarna is er nog genoten van een borrel en een hapje! Iedereen die aanwezig was en mee heeft geholpen hartelijk bedankt! En tot de volgende keer!<\/p>
